Very well stated. You nailed it with regard to the state GOP. They seem to be kind of feckless. I am getting tired of having to vote AGAINST a Democrat instead of FOR a Republican! ( You were right on the money, though, about both parties. Republicans lose when they don't do enough, while Democrats lose when the do too much. )

The Democrats have successfully used absentee voting and early voting to their advantage. I understand you want to get rid of them. I used to be a trucker and my schedule was very odd. I usually requested an absentee ballot and then they mailed me one.

We also lived in Germany for a couple of years (my wife works for the military) and voted absentee while abroad - but I still had to write to the county and request one.

I oppose the "default" mail-in ballots, though. When people have a legitimate reason for not being able to make it to the polling place, voting absentee is the only option. Remember that military people serving the country should not be disenfranchised like that, even if they might be woke. ( My dad was a combat veteran & career Army and always voted by mail because he never was stationed near his home state of Ohio. )

Early voting? Yeah, that's a big red flag. 45 days is way too long - but I see not problem with maybe two weeks at the most, provided everybody showing up at the registrar's office shows their ID.
